THE TOWN OF LADOGA WILL BE APPLYING FOR A $1,000,000 STORMWATER DRAINAGE GRANT IN APRIL 2010.
WE ARE REQUESTING LETTERS FROM CITIZENS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED OR KNOW OF STORMWATER ISSUES SUCH AS:
* WATER RUN-OFF ON YOUR PROPERTY * EXCESS STANDING WATER * ROAD OR CURB STORM DRAINS BACKING UP * ETC. PLEASE DESCRIBE IN DETAIL THE ISSUES AND FREQUENCY OF OCCURANCES. ALL LETTERS MUST BE SIGNED AND HAVE YOUR ADDRESS INCLUDED. WE ARE REQUESTING THAT THE LETTERS BE RETURNED TO THE TOWN OFFICE BY APRIL 1, 2010. TOWN OF LADOGA FIRE/EMS STATION PROJECT - Public Hearing Notice |

On or about March 19, 2010, the Town of Ladoga intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for a grant from the Office of Community and Rural Affair’s Community Focus Fund of the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This program is funded by Title I of the Federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used for a community development project that will include the following activities: construction of a new Fire/EMS Station. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $500,000. The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low- and moderate-income persons is $256,750. The Applicant also proposes to expend an estimated $61,500 in non-CDBG funds on the project. These non-CDBG funds will be derived from the following sources: CCD Fund - $50,000, and the Montgomery County Community Foundation Fund - $11,500. The Town of Ladoga will hold a public hearing on March 16, 2010, at 7:00 pm; in the Ladoga Town Fire Station to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded CDBG project. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Viki Powers, Clerk-Treasurer, P.O. Box 187, Ladoga, IN 47954, 765-952-2531 not later than March 11, 2010. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons. Information related to this project will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of March 5, 2010 at the Office the Clerk-Treasurer located at 121 E. Main Street, between the hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to Clerk-Treasurer, PO Box 187, 121 E. Main Street, Ladoga, IN 47954 no later than March 15, 2010 in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared by the Town of Ladoga and is also available to the public. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses. The Town’s 2nd Bi-annual Clean-up Days will be held on September 19th & 20th. Four dumpsters will be placed in the parking lot south of the large ball diamond, for use only by Ladoga residents. The site will be monitored for illegal dumping of such items as: appliances, tires, antifreeze, cleaners, oil-based paints, acids & bases, weed killers, old fuels, paint thinner/remover, rechargeable/lithium NICAD batteries, items containing mercury, computer monitors, printers, keyboards, CPU’s, laptops and hard drives, fluorescent light bulbs/ballast, adhesives, driveway sealer, motor oil filters, fertilizers, motor oil, pool chemicals, stains/ varnish, pesticides/herbicides and old batteries. Please be considerate, and if the dumpsters are full do not place items on the ground. We will have more clean –up days next year. |
